Dubai’s DEWA receives 8 Bids for major pumping stations project

The bids for the pumping stations ranged from $23M to $67M, with companies allowed to bid on either or both pumping stations within the project scope

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has received eight competitive bids for its Ghafat Idah Reservoir Complex Pumping Station (PS6) and Endurance Road Pumping Station (PD21) Phase 1 Stream A project, a critical initiative to enhance water infrastructure in the emirate.

The tender, issued on August 12, 2024, attracted leading firms, including Binghalib Technology, Danway Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Torishima Pump Manufacturing Co., Emarat Aloula Contracting Co., Green Oasis General Contracting Co., Gulf Contracting and Landscaping, Kalpataru Projects International, and Al Sawaed Al Qafelah General Contracting.

The bids for the pumping stations ranged from AED 85 million ($23 million) to AED 247 million ($67 million), with companies allowed to bid on either or both pumping stations within the project scope.

The project, set to be completed over 24 months, will include comprehensive electro-mechanical installations and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems to ensure optimal monitoring and control. Bidding closed on November 7, 2024, and the selection process is underway as DEWA evaluates the proposals.
