Leading Chinese solar manufacturer LONGi has unveiled its latest innovation in photovoltaic technology, the Hi-MO X10 series, at an event in Shanghai.

The new module series, featuring the world’s highest efficiency of 24.7%, marks a significant leap forward in solar technology, positioning LONGi at the forefront of the industry.

The Hi-MO X10 series is based on the company’s Terra wafers and incorporates HPBC2.0 cell technology.

The launch includes four main products: the 54 version extreme black, 72 version single glass, 72 version single glass anti-dust accumulation, and 72 version double glass. The product line aims to provide a wide range of options for different solar installations, with the focus on maximising efficiency and long-term profitability for users.

The standout feature of the Hi-MO X10 series is its unprecedented 24.7% module efficiency, setting a new global benchmark for solar modules.

The technology employed, HPBC (Hybrid Passivated Back Contact) 2.0, is a next-generation solar cell design that improves light absorption and photoelectric conversion by eliminating grid lines on the cell’s front surface. According to LONGi, this design boosts the power output by significantly increasing energy conversion rates.

LONGi’s HPBC cell technology has reached an efficiency of 26.6%, making it one of the most advanced solar cell technologies in the world. Mass production of the HPBC2.0 modules delivers over 30 watts more power than mainstream products, representing a 5% increase in output.

The Hi-MO X10 modules also incorporate other innovative technologies such as 0BB (Zero Busbar), which removes busbars and grid lines from both the front and back of the module.

This design increases light absorption and improves efficiency by maximising light reflection and minimising resistance loss. This contributes to a 5W+ increase in power output, further enhancing the overall performance of the module.

LONGi claims that the combination of these technologies makes Hi-MO X10 modules not only highly efficient but also cost-effective. The initial cost savings of using these modules in power plants can reach 0.49 yuan per watt, while the long-term net profit increase is estimated at 0.57 yuan per watt.

For the same installation area, the increased power generation capacity of the Hi-MO X10 series means a higher return on investment compared to current mainstream technologies.

The Hi-MO X10 modules feature a maximum power output of 670W, which is more than 30 watts higher than leading TOPCon modules in the market. The modules also feature a temperature coefficient of -0.26% per degree Celsius and offer an annual linear degradation rate of just 0.35% over 30 years, ensuring long-term reliability. In the first year, degradation is limited to 1%, providing assurance of sustained performance throughout the product’s lifespan.

Available with a 15-year product warranty and a 30-year linear power output warranty, LONGi’s new modules provide a compelling solution for both residential and industrial applications.

The higher efficiency, combined with durability, is expected to make these modules a preferred choice for projects seeking to maximize energy production over the long term.

The new Hi-MO X10 modules are built using 182mm n-type TaiRay wafers, which LONGi describes as a breakthrough in silicon wafer technology. The wafers improve resistance uniformity, reduce metal impurities, and enhance mechanical strength, further contributing to the module’s superior performance.

According to LONGi, simulations of power generation in various global regions have shown that the Hi-MO X10 series can generate up to 8% more power compared to existing TOPCon products.

The Hi-MO X10 series represents a major step forward in solar technology, offering unprecedented efficiency and power output. As the demand for high-efficiency solar solutions grows, particularly in distributed energy systems, LONGi’s latest product line is well-positioned to meet these needs.
